ICE - In Case of Emergency

INW EAS

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY (ICE)

  • The idea proposes that individuals enter emergency contact information into their cell phone address book.

  • Why ICE? Research indicates more than 75 to 80% of people carry no details regarding emergency contact information while almost everyone now carries a cell phone.

  • The purpose is to provide emergency services personnel with a means of identifying someone that you would want contacted in case of an emergency situation.

  • Program ICE in your Cell Phone and the corresponding number. Should you have more than one person or more than on person use ICE1, ICE2, ICE3, etc. You may also enter a person’s name with ICE after it.

  • Notify the individuals you have identified on your phone that they are your emergency contact.

  • ICE should be used in conjunction with carrying emergency contact information in your purse or wallet. Please download, fill in and carry these MS Word or PDF ICE cards

  • Using ICE and carrying emergency contact information, will make you feel safer, as well as make the jobs of emergency services personnel that much easier.
