Spokane Fire Training Center (FTC) & Emergency Operations Center (EOC)

A Coordination Agency working with local Public, Private and Non-Profit organizations

 Activities the Department is involved with include:

  • Hazardous Materials Planning (HAZMAT): facilitating the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC)
    • Hazardous Materials response planning   
  • Resource Procurement
  • Response Fleet maintenance
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS: coordination with GIS Dept.
    • For identifying mapping sites
  • Local Hazard Identification & Vulnerability Analysis (HIVA)
  • Mitigation: Coordinate with response agencies, local government and citizens
    • Development of disaster prevention strategies
  • Exercise/Training Coordination
    • Local and regional coordinated first responder training
  • Critical Infrastructure Identification: coordinate with Law Enforcement and Fire Services
    • Identify critical facilities
  • Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP)
  • Activation of Emergency Alert System (EAS)
  • Public Outreach
  • Evacuation Plan: facilitate planning by Law enforcement 
  • Search & Rescue
    • Water and land
  • Sheltering: coordinate with American Red Cross  
    • Ensure sheltering needs are being met. 
  • Emergency Operations Center (EOC)
    • Coordination center for large disasters
  • Joint Information Center (JIC)
  • Washington State Region 9 Homeland Security Lead County
